Introduction

Welcome, welcome, welcome!

It’s hard for me to contain my excitement that you are here. If we were in person, I’d have to restrain myself from giving you a great big hug. Now, let’s get on with the show and talk about what this is all going to look like.

As of this very moment you have access to every single module, which includes written teaching, video and audio recordings, and journal workbook lessons to complete. You can go as fast or slow as you want and you’ll always have access!

Every now and then, I’ll email prompts and questions to see how you’re coming along. And about every month, we’ll hold a live, hour-long Q&A session. These sessions will be recorded if you can’t attend.

Additionally, you now have direct access to me to email any questions. My email address is blaine@letsmakebetter.com. I try to respond within 48 hours.

THE PROCESS

Make Better will lead you through the process of integrating your art with your life, and just like life, you’ll find it is a roundabout process and not always linear. Thus, we’ll circle back, take detours, and go on rabbit trails, but know that you are always in good hands.

Some lessons and assignments will be uber practical that you can implement immediately, while others  will take more space and contemplation.

You’ll have fun and you might also shed some tears. In fact, you might find that some lessons are quite emotional as we begin to dig around in that beautiful heart of yours, searching for the question underneath the question.

Becoming better humans is hard work, friends!

Now, imagine you’re headed back to school and your new teacher just handed you a list of supplies. Below is what you’ll need before we get started:

1. Join the Facebook Group

The Facebook group is the place to connect with the Make Better community and many of your counterparts have enjoyed connecting on deeper, one-on-one levels there.

2. Download the workbook journal

If the modules are your map, the workbook journal is your travelogue. It will be the place you capture everything that comes out along the way. Some people like to print it out and work by hand, others like to type right in the document. It’s up to you!

3. Prepare to make your own connections

There are a bajillion online courses you can take to make or become just about anything. I’ve taken a number of them, in fact. What seems to always attract me is their prescriptive nature. Do this and you’ll become that. Do these 8 steps and soon you’ll be a (fill in the blank). While I’ll be giving you plenty of practical to-do’s (prescriptions, you might say), you’ll need to be on the lookout for your own connections. The work of integration is a very personal journey, you know. But don’t fret, I’ll prompt you along the way. I simply want you to be mindful about how each lesson connects to you and your story.

4. Commit

As I’ve already mentioned, one thing your enrollment entitles you to is lifetime membership. This means you can always return to the course from now until forever. And yet, committing to the work that follows is incredibly important. You’ll find that if you commit, you’ll get immediate results that will change how you work. And by the time you finish you the course, I firmly believe that those most committed to the material will have their lives changed dramatically for the better. In fact, because of your lifetime membership, I recommend re-engaging with the material at least once a year. These concepts are lifelong!

Remember, if you have questions or simply want to reach out and say “hello,” email me. I’m here to help!
